Traveling along either the Salzach or Saalach rivers, we arrive in Bruck on the main road, the Glocknerstrasse. As early as the Ferleiten Toll Booth, we enter the Alpine wonderland with a diversity of Flora and Fauna.
Heading up the mountain, we drive past the Schleier Waterfall, the Hexenküche (Witch’s Kitchen), the Edelweißspitze overlook; Fuscher Törl and the Hochtor gates on the way to the Franz-Josef-Höhe, and look down below at the Pasterze Glacier. The friendly marmots are a living symbol of the glacier region. The secrets of the icebergs have been passed down through legends, and the Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Höhe Visitor Center (2369m) provides scientific information. We can stroll around a bit through the magnificent landscape on the Gamsgrubenweg Trail, or ride down to the Eternal Ice of the Pasterze on the Gletcherbahn railway car.
Proper footwear and weatherproof clothing are a must!
