A Ride to Oberndorf and Arnsdorf
Join us on a coach ride out into the countryside, to Oberndorf on the Salzach River, where the priest Josef Mohr and the teacher Franz Xaver Gruber composed and sang, "Silent night, holy night" for the very first time.
The Post Office there sells special stamp for your Christmas cards.
We enjoy the view from the Salzach Dam across to Laufen, a Bavarian town once belonging to Salzburg. Then we drive on to Arnsdorf, just a few minutes away. There you’ll visit the school where Gruber worked. His apartment, with his original furniture allows you to get to know Salzburg’s Biedermeier Period.
